Boto is by far the best sushi I have ever had! The Japan Fresh Caught are really interesting fish. I always ask what is best that day and the staff is friendly and helpful. The Golden Eye, the Rosy Seaperch, and the Amber Jack were especially amazing.

Absolutely delicious meal. The sesame dressing on the salad was exceptionally nutty and sweet. The tempura veggies were wonderful, the best I’ve had, the crunch and freshness of the vegetables made them memorable. Will be back immediately! Happy to find this unexpected gem! Also the music was a serene mix of smooth jazz and instrumental. Music really has an impact on the dining experience and this was spot on!

Great staff and quality sushi. We have eaten there both lunch and dinner and have always been happy. The ever changing "fresh catch" selection posted on the wall is a nice touch, so in addition to old standards and favorites, you can branch out and try something different.

Don’t come here for the ambiance (it’s in a shopping centre!) not for the service (kind of haphazard), but for heavens sake, come for THE FOOD! The toro sushi was succulent, the wasabi was fresh, and the seared tuna was superb. The unagi was perfectly seasoned and tender. The gyoza were made with perfect dough, properly cooked, with very tasty pork filling. The yellowtail jalapeno was on a par with Nobu, which is the highest praise I can give! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her crab cakes, flavourful and thoughtfully cooked (I.e. not greasy). We were a party of seven and all of us were thrilled! Kudos!

Unpretentious place with surprisingly good omakase (priced accordingly to the area). Friendly staff, inventive dishes, and great nigiri sushi that’s dressed properly. It’s not cheap, but it has a lot of great stuff flown in from Japan. Trust the chef and order the omakase. It’s worth the splurge.

So delicious!! Glad we stopped in. Crunchy roll and Ahi tuna roll was so fresh and you can notice. The rolls were at the proper temp, you can tell there equipment is up to code and keeping proper temps. Thanks!

The service was great and the food was better. They serve three kinds of fish cheek bones called Kama and it's listed on their menu (most places that serve it you have to ask for it or know the chef). If you've never had Kama then you're missing out its the sweetest most tender and moist meet on the fish. The cucumber roll was great and even though I am a wimp when it comes to anything spicy the sauce added flavor to the roll and very little heat. My friend who loves spicy things also loved the sauce.

This is how a sushi spot should be. Simple, clean, straight to the point and delicious. Every time I’ve been here everything has been so fresh and delicious. Seriously this is the freshest best sushi in the entire San Diego area (and I’ve experimented a lot both downtown and in north county) so I feel pretty solid saying it :)
